As a humanist and designer, I create digital publications and projects where form is informed by content, a term called critical making. My passion is collaborative projects that find new frameworks and modalities to tell their stories, whether it’s through an immersive archive or grant narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started my career as a humanist among computer scientists and engineers thinking about what “place,” “space” and “history” meant in digital projects. I’ve since worked in positions that translate between disciplines: an instructor of engineering history to engineers, a digital consultant for grant projects, and, currently, a director and digital developer for an innovative publishing lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a freelance designer for\u00a0punctum books<\/a>, I applied my translation skills to create intricate, freely-accessible digital publications that were companions, rather than replacements, for print and ebook editions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, my freelance work is community-based and purpose-driven. You can see what I’m working on at my day job with the Athenaeum Press at Coastal Carolina University.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n
